I quit smoking in 2020. My GP referred me to him to have a CT scan of my lungs. He ordered me a CT every 6 months for 2 years & at my very last 6 month scan in 2022, there was a very small spot on my left lung. It turned out to be lung cancer. It was situated to where the spot couldn't be removed so I had the lower lobe of my lung removed. The surgeon was worried that I would not fare well as my pre-op lung function tests were not good. Knowing me so well as a patient, Dr. Aneja told the surgeon that I was better than my lung tests & got me approved for my surgery. Dr. Aneja was great! He came to see me in the hospital even though I was under a surgeon's care at the time. I was so happy to see a familiar face! I was blessed that the kind of cancer I had, that after surgery, I was considered cured, no chemo, no radiation, no oxygen tank. He saved my life.
