I developed Coccidioidimycosis in 1990. I was treated in the Inland Empire by Drs who were clueless.. After 3 months, the disease spread to my lungs and back. Much hair & weight loss. I had pain radiating down both arms & legs and could barely stand. I had a friend of a friend who had heard of my condition & happen to have a family member that was being treated by Dr C. He provided his contact information, and as a last attempt I called his office crying historically, desperate for help. I spoke with his nurse who consulted with him. She called me back after a few moments & informed me that my insurance was not accepted at UCSD, but Dr C would be happy to see me for a consultation along with medical records. My husband and I gathered my records & drove 125 miles to see him. After an assessment He determined it was too risky for me to drive back & fought with my insurance company for approval. 23 yrs later, many surgeries & a healthy miracle baby, I survived. I thank God for Dr C!!
