Dr. Pierce performed emergency open-heart surgery on me overnight on 7/31/09-8/01/09 after I had suffered total kidney failure and a heart attack after jogging on a very hot and humid late afternoon. The triple bypass took approximately 5 hours during which she had to bypass three coronary arteries, including the posterior descending artery ("the widow maker"). From then until now, only meds are a daily aspirin and a statin. She saved my life!
