I went to Dr. Handwerger for extreme exhaustion and high cholesterol. He performed lipid and ordered a lipoprotein test. After five years of questioning my other physician on my high cholesterol (260) without a response or a lipoprotein test ordered, a CAC test showed 25 % blockage in my Left artery and 190 (moderately high score) of plaque overall. My regular doctor put me on a statin, and Dr. Handberger added CoQ10. He also performed a cortisol test due to exhaustion and found I was in stage 3 of adrenal fatigue. He explained the condition to me. I went over the symptoms and was placed on bioidentical cortisol replacement along with vitamins and minerals to boost my adrenals. My Western physician was stuck on getting me a sleep study to see if I had sleep apnea. His expertise in both Western and Eastern medicine is a lifesaver.
