Aging of the skin around the eyes is one of the biggest concerns my patients have. They notice that the skin often looks red, crepey,
and makes them look older than their years and tired. To fix this, we need to understand that the skin around the eyes is different than the skin
on the rest of the face. It's thinner, and it's more sensitive and has a thick network of blood vessels.
When you rub your eyes, that can create irritation, which can make it look red and over time can make it look discolored and brown as well.
Genetics can play a role in under-eye discoloration, and that can be treated with brighteners.
Sometimes we see discoloration when we've been out a little too long at night the night before, had a little too much to drink.
So that lack of sleep and dehydration can make our eyes look puffy or hollowed and darker
than its normal color. Drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep will do wonders to make your eyes look their best.
Other things that we can do is using hyaluronic acid fillers to help lift and improve the hollowness around the eyes
because even that shadow can make your eyes look darker and older than their years. It's important to see a well-trained aesthetic
physician to have this procedure done because many times by addressing other areas of face like the midface can improve that area without directly
touching it. Ingredients I like for under the eye area are ingredients like hyaluronic acid, retinoic acid, which
is vitamin A, which helps strengthen the skin and make it younger. And other ingredients are caffeine and niacinamide.
These help even out skin tone and rejuvenate this very delicate, very sensitive skin around the eyes.
Always look for a cream that's designed to be used around the eyes because it is a sensitive area, and these creams are tested to be used in this area
so you know that you'll have the lowest risk of having an irritation or sensitivity. [AUDIO LOGO]
