Hospital: West Valley Spine Center and West Valley Medical Center, Caldwell, Idaho
Specialty: Family Practice, Back and Neck Pain

Why made you decide to go into nursing?
I’ve always been interested in the medical field. I had medical issues as a child, and was in and out of the hospital for months at a time, and it was the nurses that really made an impact in my life.

Biggest health vice?
Definitely cookies. Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.

How do you stay active?
Sometimes it’s hard to go to the gym after work because it takes another hour or two away from my family, so I like to do active things as a family like take a long walk or bike ride.

What’s your favorite out-the-door breakfast?
Cliff bars. They taste good, and have a decent amount of protein in them, so when I’m rushing out the door and I don’t have time for anything else, I’ll just grab one of those. At least I know I’m getting some protein in the morning, and that will help me stay full.

What’s the hardest part about your job?
The hardest part about what I do is that I can’t help everyone. I love helping people; that’s why I went into this field. But there are times where you’ve done everything that you can and they’re still in pain. That’s always hard.
