Transcript
So a diabetic patient should see their doctor depending on what kind of diabetes they have.
If they are type two diabetic or newly diagnosed, we recommend an exam as soon as they're diagnosed. Because a lot of times people can have changes
without realizing that they have changes in the back of the eye. For type one diabetics, the first eye that we recommend is within the first five years of diabetes.
If there are women that are pregnant that have gotten diagnosed, we like to have a pre-pregnancy exam
and then one examine in each trimester and then a post delivery exam.
