Bio

Valerie has been part of the Discovery Health team for the past three years as a National Body Challenge fitness expert and recently became part of the elite Sharecare Coaching Team. Seven years ago, she founded Fitwell Training Solutions to help moms integrate fitness into their daily lives.  As a business owner and mom of four kids, she understands the challenges and pressures moms face in trying to stay in shape and keep their families healthy.  Passionate about integrating fitness into every life stage, Valerie has developed programs for pre-conception, pregnancy and post-pregnancy.  From this work and feedback from clients, she created the babyShape Prenatal Workout DVD, one of the only DVDs on the market to focus on strength training for pregnancy. 


Valerie has a passion for helping moms in all life stages maintain fitness amid hectic schedules, work responsibilities, and family needs.  Valerie does this a variety of ways through Corporate Fit Challenges, workshops, and on radio shows.  She holds a B.S. in Radiation Therapy and a Master of Health Administration.  Valerie is certified by the American Council on Exercise as a Personal Trainer and Lifestyle and Weight Management Coach.  She also holds a personal training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. 


Valerie has consulted with many organizations on ways to incorporate fitness and wellness into their business practices.  She has managed health education programs serving over 300,000 members of Kaiser Permanente in Northern California and worked as a Senior Healthcare Consultant on a variety of operations improvement and revenue enhancement engagements with Deloitte & Touche Consulting.  Valerie’s enthusiasm and passion for fitness give her a keen awareness of the needs of the client in all life stages.
