Bio

My name is Teresa. I am 37 (soon to be 38) years old. I have been married for 17 years and have a beautiful 8 year old daughter named Jadyn.
I have struggled with my weight my entire life. After getting married and wanting to start a family, we were told after visiting 4 different doctors that I had PCOS.
After exploratory surgery, 8 years of infertility treatments and thousands of dollars we were finally blessed with our baby girl in 2003.
PCOS is  horrible and I have used it for so many years as an excuse for being overweight. I will never use PCOS as an excuse again!
I have finally realized that I am worth the effort and I will succeed this time :)

Hi Teresa, I'm sorry you are experiencing frustration with your stats page. Mine also says 70%, i'm not sure why. My mood took a day or two to change, that i noticed about my page. I think you might have to contact Sharecare directly, which can be done at the very bottom of the page by clicking on "contact us". This way the technical people can check it, fix it, or explain it to you. I'm sorry i couldn't be of more help.

So happy to say that I made it through the weekend! I stayed within my calories and also managed to get some exercise in. I used to wake up on Mondays feeling horrible for falling off the plan on weekends. It was great to wake up this morning knowing I am headed toward a healthy future :)

Good Morning Teresa! I red your bio and your blog entries, and i'm sorry you are a little frustrated with not losing weight this week. A few different things go on with us females that can negatively impact our scale numbers (which should be you only gauge), our menstrual cycle, salt intake, change in lifestyle. I had to teach a close friend of mine the menstrual cycle thing a few weeks ago because she was losing and losing and then all of a sudden she gained a couple pounds even though she was holding steadfast with her diet and exercise. Sure enough, once her period was finished she was back down to where she wanted to be. So don't stress over the scale right now. It's just the beginning :). Tell me a little about what your diet and exercise routines look like. I look forward to getting to know you! Have a BLESSED Friday!

Some days can be so frustrating when you have PCOS. I have been watching my calories all week and exercising no less than 20 minutes a day and I weigh this morning and I have gained 1lb :(

All I can do is continue on the path I am currently walking and pray that my body starts to respond in a postive

Welcome Teresa! I too, was told that I have PCOS. Problem is no one has really told me what to do for it. Lose weight and then they said they would talk about hormones. Nothing has happened so like you, I did the yo-yo dieting trick. WW works and am glad that I have joined and am re-learnng about healthy lifestyle changes. Good luck, we can do this together and with the help of others on this jorney with us. Can't wait to get to know more about you through your posts and blogs.
