Stephanie Lewis - Sharecare Transformer

Bio

Having battled with my weight over the last few years, I made a new commitment to myself and my over all health September 26, 2011.

Since that commitment, I was honored as a Dr. Oz Transformation Nation Million Dollar You Top 10 finalist, I have lost 50 pounds, dropped 5 dress sizes, work out 6 days a week in the gym and on the pavement, and have gotten my family and friend actually reading food labels and taking better care of themselves.

Since losing my father in March 2012 to complications related to morbid obesity, I have organized Team Tommy Today, Inc., a not-for-profit with a mission statement "together we can take on weight management one step at a time." We are an organized walking group, always looking for folks to join, raising funds for weight, health and fitness related charities. Our bigger goal is to host our own race raising scholarship funding for students wishing to pursue careers in the health and fitness arenas. Our website - teamtommytoday.org is up and running, as is our facebook page - Team Tommy Today.

What else in the mean time? I am continuing my weight loss journey with my family along side of me. I can run 10 miles now instead of walking a winded 6. I will be competing in half and full marathons this year. I feel so amazing that I am currently studying to obtain personal trainer certification through the American College of Sports Medicine and Life and Weight Management certification through the American Council on Exercise so that I will be armed with the best knowlege possible to help others find their way back to fitness and well being.
