My Story: I am a wife and mother of two, a boy (4 years) and a little girl (5months). The pregnancy with my second child was just physically harder than the first and I just did not feel as motivated to loose the baby-weight as I did with my first child. So post baby, I was stuck at 177lbs! I watch the Dr. OZ show religiously, and I learned about tracking my BMI. When I calculated my BMI, I realized I was in an unhealthy range. I joined Transformation Nation because it really gave me motivation and tools I needed to focus on my OVERALL health--not just the weight. It put my weight gain in perspective. My weight was a symptom of a host of unhealthy behaviors--like not getting enough sleep, mindless eating, not managing my stress, and overall just not making myself a priority. I love my family, and in order for me to be the best mom and wife that I can be, I need to stay healthy.
Being a working mother of two small children, finding time is a challenge. Dr. OZ showed that only a couple of minutes a day can make a big difference in my overall health. So, there are no excuses! I can do this!
I joined Weight Watchers and asked my friend Sandra to join with me, because I also learned on Dr. OZ's show that people who join with a friend have better results. She an I have been going to the meetings to stay on track and to motivate each other. Well, it really worked! With Weight Watchers, I have been eating my way thin....I say eating, because as long as I follow the points + system -- I am never hungry. The food I eat is full of taste, and I can eat as many veggies and fruits as I want. So, I never feel deprived! It really is easier to follow than anything else I have tried in the past.
I also learned to just keep moving....When I cannot spare 20-30 minutes to work out, I will take 2-5 minutes doing squats or jumping jacks just to keep my body moving throughout the day. It really is easier to integrate into my busy day.
I currently weigh 150lbs.---I have lost 27lbs so far and I feel great! I have been managing my stress, my time, my sleep, and my eating habits, exercise, and my communication with my doctor -- with just a little effort each day, I get big results!
The biggest impact of following the tenants of Transformation Nation has been my overall attitude. Some days are harder than others. I remind myself that I am in control. When I do the right things, I see results. That is so empowering! I feel happier and it rubs off on my family and friends. Life is good and only getting better!
The Transformation Nation really made me more aware of what it means to be the best Sharona I can be.
I still have yet to reach my goal weight, but I am almost there! Bikini Mommy, here I come!
