At Florida Hospital Healthcare System in Orlando, Florida and surrounding counties, Ruth serves as the System Coordinator for Perinatal Education. She coordinates meetings of the System Perinatal High Reliability Meetings, an interdisciplinary committee, which seeks to improve patient safety and quality outcomes. Ruth has been employed in Perinatal Services at Florida Hospital for 34 years, and during that time has led in the initiation of a Perinatal Nurse Internship Program to transition nurses to the care of Perinatal Patients. In addition, Ruth has co-authored several publications. The most resent is the publication of the Obstetric Triage Acuity Tool in the Sept/Oct, 2011 issue of MCN.
