Deborah Hunt

Bio

Dr. Deborah Hunt is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at The College of New Rochelle and Co-Founder/Director of the Nurse Advocacy Forum. She currently teaches Med-Surg, Transcultural, and Dosage Calculation. She earned her PhD from Adelphi University and the recipient of the Sigma Theta Tau’s International Honor Society’s Zeta Omega Research Award and is the Zeta Omega Scholar for 2010-2011. Her research interests are in nursing turnover and transition of the new nurse. Recently, she presented at the International Council of Nurses conference with Dr. Connie Vance, and Dr. Launette Woolforde. The title of the presentation was The First Career Stage in Nursing: A Critical Link to the Future of Professional Nursing Practice. She is a member of Community Board 10 and Chairperson of its Health and Human Services Committee. She is also a member of The New York Academy of Medicine. She has served as a peer reviewer for the Policy, Politics, & Nursing Practice Journal and has also served as a peer reviewer for several nursing textbooks. She has given several presentations for ADVANCE for Nurses and was recently appointed to serve on their editorial advisory board.
