Bio
She has worked for Providence Health System for 14 years, both as inpatient and outpatient dietitian. At Providence Portland Medical Center, Niki worked in critical care, surgery, and metabolic support as a Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD). In 1999, she was awarded the “Mission Medal”, the highest honor given to staff who demonstrate the Providence mission and core values. In 2000, the Oregon Dietetic Association named her “Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year.”
Since 2002, Niki has focused on outpatient nutrition counseling for gastrointestinal (GI) diseases and disorders, such as: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), intestinal cancers and resections, bowel obstructions, chronic constipation, and her personal favorite, chronic diarrhea.
Niki is currently writing a book titled, “Diet and Diarrhea.” She also has a blog: www.dietandiarrhea.blogspot.com. She lives with her husband, three children, dog, and six chickens. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer, camping, working in her garden, and spending time with friends.
