Bio

Melissa Taylor RNC, MPH has practiced as a registered nurse for 25 years and is certified in the areas of in-patient obstetrics and emergency nursing.  Although she maintains a strongly clinical focus, Melissa has a Master's in Public Health, and certificate in Legal Nurse Consulting with additional training in mediation.  She also has practiced in the area of Community Health Education.  Melissa has served as a Clinical Faculty instructor to Associate Degree Nursing Candidates. She has previous administrative experience in a state Department of Public Health as OB-GYN Nurse Advisor.  Melissa has been a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society for over 20 years.  She also volunteers time as a Manuscript Reviewer for the AWHONN professional journal "Nursing for Women's Health."

    I agree with my colleagues that both and fresh and dried herbs are delicious replacements for salt, but you absolutely must read the label on your dried herb containers. There are some products, such as "lemon pepper," or various herbal "powders," that actually do contain salt.
