Bio

November 2010, my husband and I decided we needed to get serious about losing weight. I could hardly move. Standing and walking were extremely difficult for me.

I’m 61 and sure I was doomed to not be able to take off the 170 pounds. I knew my age and my lack of movement would be a factor. Then in January 2011, I saw Dr. Oz (first time) talking about Move It and Lose It. I recorded it and had my husband watch. We were convinced this was an answer, we were inspired, so we signed up.

In February I told my doctor I needed help with my back issues or I would never be healthy, as it was getting more difficult each day to walk and stand, or even get in and out of bed. My husband had to help me dress and do my hair. The doctor referred me to the Spine Institute in our area. I met the doctor with documentation I’d found on the Internet proving that there was something that could be done to “fix” me. He said surgery was the only answer (not what I had found on the Internet) and it needed to be done right away. In February I had the surgery.

I can stand and walk without pain for the first time in years.

From January to May, my husband and I have both lost almost 50 pounds with little exercise. Just imagine what we will do when we can exercise. You can only image how we felt when the 11-week-program was extended to August. I now have a daughter and friends who have signed up, too. I appreciate the support and information that Dr. Oz and the Elite Trainers provide us.
