At the University of Washington School of Nursing, Ira Kantrowitz-Gordon directs the graduate midwifery education program for nurse-midwifery students and lectures in midwifery and women's health.  He has been a practicing nurse-midwife for thirteen years and is currently pursuing his PhD in nursing at Washington State University.
