The Grannies on Safari are excited about being travel experts for the ShareCare website!  Together we have been to more than 110 countries and visited six continents!  We believe that traveling healthy is of utmost importance and our contribution along with medical expertise from the Northwestern Memorial Physians Group Travel Center, and the other fine institutions associated with ShareCare, allows us to provide you with the very best answers to your travel questions.

Regina Fraser and Pat Johnson

Pat A. Johnson 
Pat  is a career arts administrator who comes to the “Grannies on Safari” from San Francisco where she was the Founding Director of the new Museum of the African Diaspora. She was an Assistant Commissioner and Director of the Chicago Artists International Program (CAIP), a division of the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs from 1983 to 1993, and organized  CAIP to support bilateral international cultural exchange between artists and arts administrators in Chicago and the world.

Ms. Johnson’s career also includes tenure as Executive Director of the Jamaica Center for the Arts in New York City and Founding Director of the South Dallas Cultural Center in Texas. As a nationally recognized leader in multi-disciplinary arts management, she has been a consultant for many arts and cultural organizations including UNESCO and the U.S. Department of State. Her work as a Cultural Specialist has international residency assignments in India, Ghana, Brazil, South Africa, China and Indonesia.


Ms. Johnson has produced and moderated TV programs in San Diego, Los Angeles and Dallas, as well as produced several cultural documentary videos.


Regina S. Fraser
Regina is a marketing, media and communications strategist. She held management positions in corporate communications, video, advertising and marketing during her 31 years with United Airlines.

Regina developed and implemented several marketing strategies including programs that involved Archbishop Desmond Tutu, the first South African opera “Princess Magogo,” and marketing objectives for Discovery Channel Inc., Art.com, The Polish American Contractors and Builders Association Exposition (in Warsaw and Wroclaw, Poland), and the Greenwich Festival (Greenwich, England). Additionally, she was a loaned executive to the Americans for the Arts and the White House Millennium Council and developed a cultural exchange program for the 50 largest cities in the United States. Regina has a strong background in video production and media promoitons.
