ANY TIME is the RIGHT TIME to GET FIT!

At the age of 51, I successfully lost 50 pounds through exercise, good nutrition and the help of a wonderful trainer.  A back injury sent me to rehab and that's when my lack of fitness really hit home.  I could not even stand on one foot for 10 seconds!!   I made the decision right then to do whatever it took to be a strong and healthy woman.  And, so my journey began.

I wanted to share my experience with as many people as possible and became certified as a NASM personal trainer.  I began seeing clients in their homes and leading group sessions at Elite Performance in Worthington, Ohio.  I set up after school workout sessions for teachers at the high school where I worked.

Good balance and a strong core/ab are fundamental aspects of great health and fitness so I work with my clients in these areas, starting at the beginning and progressing toward more difficult activities.  I enjoy helping senior citizens increase their strength and mobility and improve their overall functional fitness.  I personally enjoy circuit training and often use this type of workout structure with my clients.  The greatest part of being a trainer is helping people to accomplish things they never dreamed possible and to meet their health and fitnss goals.

All in all, from "no, I can't do that" to "how far can I go" has been an amazing personal journey for me and I would love to share yours!  Email me to talk about your goals and get started today.

Gay Yarnell has posted a blog entry: Loose Skin

Here's a great article about loose skin.  As he points out, weight loss of 1 to 2 pounds per week is a great goal.  This rate of loss gives the skin time to ease back into normal shape.  I love Biggest Loser because it shows us that ANYTHING is possible but ya just know some of those people have to have skin removal

I saw the nutritionist on speed dial but I don't have the smart phone; my phone is just average, ha! I went back a few pages and I guess it was you I enjoyed listening to; the advice you give to others; maybe you should write a book huh? I love ideas of what to cook for dinner and my husband is a plain jane eater! Also I love new nutrition information. Hope that helps describe me a little bit more. Thanks for sharing all your advice, I loved reading some of it. hugs Roberta

Hi, Roberta! You certainly DO have a great deal going on with your family just now. Hard as it can be, keep taking time for yourself to exercise and be active. You are doing a great job! You asked on my page, "Hey, is there a way to get your info put onto my page??". I'm so glad you've found some useful things on my site. Can you give me an idea of what you'd like to have show on your site & I'll find out how we can make that happen! Have a great day!

Hey, is there a way to get your info put onto my page?? A great deal of it seems like it would be so very helpful; if not I make a note of my favorite coaches to go to for what! That'll work too. Thanks. Someone recently gave me a link for knee pain and alot of others gave advice too. I went to the Dr. and I am bone on bone both medial and lateral. Know wonder they hurt so bad!! I go in soon for an MRI; will try to keep all posted. Anyway, just checking in. hugs Roberta

ty Gay, I do have a couple of sites that can calculate calories of a recipe. But its good to have a few because being from NZ some of them don't have the options I need, especially if they only do brands and you can't imput calories for an ingredient. Have to check them out properly

What type of exercise equipment would be good for weight loss?
The best exercise equipment for weight loss is the one that you are going to use.  It doesn't really matter how effective certain equipment can be, if you do not enjoy it, you are not going to do it.  Some people like being outside, so things like running, hiking, or riding a bicycle would be a good choice....Full Post

you have any ideas? I don't watch tv exercises except to see how they look and think 'now if i had their body and they had a feather up their behind, then we'd both be tickled!'. ha! that's what my mom used to say all the time. I used to have Richard Simmons 'Sweatin' To The Oldies', I liked that a lot, it was fun; I'll have to look for those now that I have room to do it. The sewing and exercising together makes a great deal of sense and something I should be doing and can do now! I'll let you know when I start with my clay and you can give me any ideas, ok? ok! hugs Roberta
