  • Encouragement from Friends

    I posted my before and after photos on Facebook last night and the response has been overwhelming. Friends and acquaintences have been so very kind, thoughtful, and encouraging with their comments. I feel even more motivated and inspired to keep going!
  • Happy Easter!

    Happy Easter! My mom and I have been doing Weight Watchers together. Regularly I would bring bring candy for the holiday, but this year I brought a flower coursage to her instead. Mom seemed to really like it!
  • Final Weigh In

    I had my final weigh in for the Transformation Nation challenge today. In the past 6 months I have lost 29.8 pounds! I have so much more energy and I feel really good about all of the changes I have made.
  • Walk to Work

    I walked to work this morning! From door to door it took me 50 minutes. This meant I had to get up earlier, but I feel like I can do anything if I can walk the 4 miles to work. It was a bit chilly, so I need to make sure I dress better for the weather next time.
  • CSAs

    I've been looking at CSAs (Community Sponsored Agriculture) groups lately. There is a nice variety in my area, but I think I would waste alot of the food. I think it will be best for me to go to the farmer's markets instead this summer to buy only what I need.
  • Strength Training Adjustment

    I've started incorporating balance into my strength training. Balancing on one leg during some of the exercises makes it surprisingly more of a challenge. I can't balance very well, but I know I will improve with practice.
  • Chinese Food

    We decided to order chinese food tonight which is one of my weaknesses. Formerly I would have ordered General Tso's, fried rise, and an egg roll. Tonight I had steamed veggies and chicken with a little bit of brown rice.
  • Water Craving

    My body is definitely craving water now. I went a little too long without enough fluids and started to get a headache. Shortly after rehydrating I felt alot better! Water is so much better than the diet soda.
  • Longer Run

    I ran for an hour today to make up for yesterday. I am a sweaty hot mess! Using the incline on my treadmill makes all of the difference. I think my body was getting adjusted to my running, so it was time to up the ante. I am using a 5 elevation level right now in intervals.
