As a provider of health promotion activities, care, and research to African American females for over 25 years I have focused my efforts on their behavioral health such as avoidance of risky and early sexual behavior, self-esteem, academic enrichment activities, and mother-daughter relationships. Additionally, I have studies behavioral health risks (anxiety, depressive symptoms, and stress) in African American women between the ages of 30-60 and the use of parish nurses to reduce these health risks. I have medical-surgical nursing experience in hypertension, am knowledgeable about physician referrals for orthopedic shoulder injuries, and have experience as a parish nurse in helping congregants and community with issues re spirituality and health.
