Bio
Dr. Stacy Geisler is the first woman board certified oral surgeon licensed in the state of Oregon’s history. During her career, she has been blessed to have experienced both a busy academic practice at Oregon Health Sciences University as well as her current active private practice in Lake Oswego. She is an attending surgeon at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland where she provides care for some of the state’s poorest and neediest people. She also provides surgical care through such efforts as the Mission of Mercy and Give Kids A Smile but also internationally through Medical Teams International. She has made two life changing trips to West Africa and hopes to make many more. Thus, she is a well rounded surgeon with experience in both the private and academic worlds serving not only the affluent but also the vulnerable.
Dr. Geisler's background as an educator includes formal didactic teaching in the university setting to both undergraduate and graduate students as well as teaching to her peers. She currently serves as the course director for an active multidisciplinary study club in Oregon serving the educational needs of dentists, prosthodontists, orthodontists and endodontists in the state. She is a frequently sought lecturer in the Pacific Northwest.
She currently serves as an Evidence Based Reviewer for the American Dental Association. In this capacity, she has had the privilege of preparing and publishing several multidisciplinary peer reviewed critical summaries - one of which was selected for publication in the Journal of the American Dental Association. In addition, she has served as a peer reviewer for such medical journals as the Lancet and Cancer Epidemiology & Biomarkers, basic science journals such as Carcinogenesis and dental journals such as the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Geisler has been voted by her peers as a top oral and maxillofacial surgeon practicing in the Portland, OR area since 2008.
