Peter Barnett

Bio

Dr. Barnett has been a dentist for over thirty years with extensive involvement in both clinical aspects of dentistry and the business of dentistry. He is a graduate of Colgate University, the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, The Wharton Graduate School of Business and the University of Rochester Eastman Institute of Oral Health. He is a former Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and a former Board Chairman of the National Association of Dental Plans, the industry wide association of dental benefit companies. He has also served as a long term Board of Directors member of CollaGenex Pharmaceuticals, the developer of Periostat the first systemic drug to treat periodontal disease. Dr. Barnett focuses his practice now on holistically caring for oral systemic issues including TMD, periodontal care and sleep disorders.

    Certainly, the continuing presence of pain after the root canal may indicate the continuing presence of infection that may need to be treated more aggressively. If it's not treated, it could lead to bigger problems for you.  Full Post

    Dental bonding does not hurt; in most cases no anesthesia is necessary to perform the procedure. In most cases the part of the tooth that is being worked upon is not sensitive so there is no pain associated with bonding.  Full Post
