Bio

Paul David Epstein, D.M.D. is a graduate of Tufts Uniersity School of Dental Medicine and completed the LD Pankey Institute Advanced Dental Education Continuum and is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry,the International College of Dentists and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is a member of the Visiting Faculty at the Pankey Institute and an invited guest lecturer at local and national dental meetings. His membership in local, state, national and international dental societies includes the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Denatal Society.

    You cannot get cavities in dentures. Denture teeth are made of plastic or porcelain, they don't decay. Only teeth decay in the presence of bacteria and carbohydrates. Denture teeth can wear, fracture or become dislodged from its base.

    Teeth show signs of tooth grinding when there is more wear to the teeth than there should be for a comparable chronological age. The teeth may appear flattened lacking what the dentist would call a cusp (point) fossa (valley) relationship.
