Bio
Mary Pickett is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University and is a Lecturer for Harvard Medical School. She is a senior editor for Harvard Health Publications and a frequent author of consumer health information. She graduated from Stanford University and completed medical school, Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Residency at University of California San Francisco. She was on faculty at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston prior to moving to her current practice location in Portland, Oregon. She is a curriculum chairperson and teaches residents in the OHSU Internal Medicine Residency program and has a primary care practice at OHSU. A focus of her teaching is quality improvement methods and care coordination in a primary care medical home system. Dr. Pickett has research interests in polypharmacy, drug interactions, nutrition and neurologic consequences of iron deficiency. For eleven years, she has been a member of the editorial board for the Tarascon Pharmacopoeia, which is a widely used drug handbook for physicians.
