Dr. Joel Nathanson, DMD

Bio

Dr. Nathanson was born and raised in Yonkers, NY. After receiving his BA at Columbia University and his DMD degree at the University of Pensylvania, he served in the US Army Dental Corps for three years, during which time he received the Army Achievement Medal for meritorious service. After being honorably discharged, he and his wife Maureen moved to Baltimore, MD where he entered private practice, first as an associate, then as owner/principal dentist.

Dr. Nathanson’s interests outside of dentistry include music and theatre. A classically-trained singer, he has sung the National Anthem at Camden Yards and has acted and sung professionally, most recently as a member of the Handel Chamber Choir and the Baltimore Choral Arts Society, in leading roles with the Municipal Opera Company of Baltimore and Oregon Ridge Dinner Theatre, and as a featured soloist at Chizuk Amuno Congregation, Kesher Israel Congregation and in the Bach Concert Series at First English Lutheran Church.

In 1987, Dr. Nathanson was a three-time champion on the nationally-televised game show JEOPARDY!

Dr. Nathanson lives in Baltimore County with his wife and their three children.

    That depends on the type of teeth whitening solution you are using. Many "over-the-counter" type teeth whitening products that are available for purchase in stores can indeed damage tooth enamel. For this reason, it is always best to have your teeth whitened by a dentist.
