Dr. Hemant Roy received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University (Summa Cum Laude) and his medical degree with distinction from Northwestern University. He completed his medical training at Beth Israel Hospital and a three year fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Chicago. While at NorthShore, he has developed new methods to permit early detection of cancer in the GI tract, particulrarly colon and rectal cancer. His colleagues at Mayo Clinic confirm his work as "a true breakthrough technology." Dr. Roy's work has been published in a multitude of professional journals and he contributes as a mentor to junior investigatiors.
