Dr. Bradford Matthews, MD

Bio

Dr. Bradford Matthews is a Utah Valley orthopedic surgeon practicing in Saratoga Springs and Highland, Utah. He belongs to Intermountain Healthcare's Utah Valley Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

Dr. Matthews treats a wide variety of orthopedic injuries and chronic conditions. He is skilled in arthroscopic procedures, including ligament reconstructions and cartilage debridement and restoration. He has extensive experience in trauma care and considers shoulder, elbow, hand/wrist, hip, knee, and foot/ankle injuries to be his specialty.

A graduate of Brigham Young University, Dr. Matthews received his medical degree from George Washington University in Washington, DC. Following medical school, he completed an internship in orthopedic surgery at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, TX. He also completed a residency in orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation in conjunction with Texas Tech University’s Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Matthews is a Major in the US Army. In 2008, he was recognized by the Army Surgeon General for “Excellence in Orthopaedic Surgery.” He recently completed a tour of duty in Afghanistan, earning a Meritorious Service Medal. Before his tour, he served as Chief of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation at Bassett Army Community Hospital in Fairbanks, AK.
