Have you ever unexpectedly been provided the opportunity to re-evaluate your professional career or given the opportunity to pursue a personal interest professionally? With more than twenty-five years of employment in the computer technology profession, I was provided such an opportunity. After fourteen years of experience with my most recent computer technology employer, I was laid off in the beginning of 2007 when the company was acquired by an international company with its own employees.
My interest to pursue a career in physical health was a natural decision for me. One, I have pursued with great interest, determination, and excitement. At one time in my life, more than twenty years ago, I was very dedicated to a physically fit lifestyle. I incorporated a strict workout regimen that consisted mostly of bodybuilding exercises. This lifestyle provided me with an opportunity to gain a good working knowledge of exercising with free weights. More recently, I have been pursuing exercise including cardiovascular activities and strength training machines for a healthy lifestyle and physical fitness. I have used this experience, knowledge, and interest to pursue a career in physical health as a certified personal trainer. With this in mind, I took steps to pursue this professional goal. I prepared myself for the NASM CPT certification test and was successful in passing it on August 13, 2008.
My interpersonal, communication and motivational skills enable me to relate to and work with people of varying ages, socio-economic, educational backgrounds, and self confidence levels. My goal is to work with individuals who have decided to make a change in their life and pursue a healthy lifestyle.
