Ashleigh began her nursing career in palliative care and then moved into acute care in medical and radiation oncology. She has a wide range of additional nursing experience ranging from forensic nursing to teaching in Seneca College’s Collaborative BScN program in both classroom and clinical settings. Her interests include nursing informatics, education, and psychosocial issues relating to oncology nursing. She holds an Honours BScN (York University), an MN (University of Toronto) and is CNA certified in oncology. Ashleigh has been a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing since 2009 and is an active member of a number of National and International nursing organizations. Ashleigh currently works at the de Souza Institute, an organization which aims to promote excellence in oncology nursing through education and mentorship. Ashleigh recently launched the Institute’s eHealth Nursing & Oncology course as well as an Oncology Foundation’s course aimed towards educating nurses caring for cancer patients across Ontario.
