Will my doctor prescribe medications for my peripheral artery disease?

Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a condition in which blockages are present in the arteries that supply the legs or feet (and sometimes the arms) with blood. If you have PAD, your doctor may prescribe medications for you that will prevent worsening of the disease over time. Almost all patients with PAD are prescribed a daily dosage of aspirin. Most patients also take cholesterol-lowering medications, and many are prescribed medications such as ACE inhibitors to lower blood pressure.
