If you have PAD, your doctor may prescribe medications for you that will prevent worsening of the disease over time. Almost all patients with PAD are prescribed a daily dosage of aspirin. Most patients also take cholesterol-lowering medications, and many are prescribed medications such as ACE inhibitors to lower blood pressure.
