    UnitedHealthcare answered:
Many adult children were kicked off their parent’s health plans when they left college, leaving about 30 percent of young adults uninsured. The uninsured rate among employed young adults is the highest of any age group, one-third higher than older employed adults and three times higher than the uninsured rate among children. Even as young adults enter the job market, they maintain the lowest rate of access to employer-sponsored insurance plans due to entry-level or part-time jobs. One in six young adults has a chronic illness like cancer, diabetes or asthma, and nearly half of uninsured young adults report problems paying medical bills.
