Germs are good in moderation. Some illness is inevitable, and usually it’s not a big problem. Unfortunately, most germs don’t understand the concept of moderation. They invade and attack our bodies as savagely as our immune systems allow. Your mission, therefore, is to teach your child good, practical, lifelong habits that will let him avoid as many day-to-day germs as possible -- both to avoid preventable illnesses that could become serious and to reduce the chance that he’ll pick up a rogue bug (like MRSA) that will outfox his immune system and make big trouble.
