    Individuals with major depressive disorder (MDD) or generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) may be treated with Lexapro. Children 12 years of age and older who are experiencing persistent feelings of sadness, the inability to enjoy activities that previously gave pleasure, irritability, a sense of worthlessness sometimes combined with guilt, tiredness and sleep problems, are also able to take Lexapro.
