    Argatroban is used to treat or prevent blood clots in people who have low levels of platelets in the blood caused by using heparin. Many people take heparin for blood clotting disorders. Before taking argatroban, heparin therapy should be stopped. This medication may be prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
