People who have any of the following medical conditions may experience problems that affect how the body processes vitamin D:

    • People with heart or blood vessel disease may develop high levels of calcium, which could make the condition worse.
    • People who suffer from kidney disease and sarcoidosis could experience increased side effects from vitamin D.

These conditions do not preclude you from taking the supplement, but you should discuss your medical condition with your doctor before you use vitamin D.
