Who should not take Incivek?

Stacy Wiegman answered:Women who are pregnant, and men whose sexual partners are pregnant, should not take Incivek (telaprevir), a prescription medication for chronic hepatitis C.
People on certain medications should not take Incivek; these include certain drugs for high cholesterol, infections, lung problems, insomnia and other conditions. Make sure your doctor knows about all drugs (prescription and nonprescription) and supplements you take.
If you have certain medical conditions, you should talk to your doctor to see if you can safely take Incivek; these include anemia, liver problems other than hepatitis C, HIV infection, a history of gout or a recent liver transplant.
