There are several ways to have a tooth knocked out; therefore, nearly everyone is at risk for this problem. Yet there are some ways to prevent this. If you play sports, be sure to wear a helmet that protects the face and mouth. Wearing a mouth guard while playing sports will also minimize any trauma to teeth. Contact your dentist immediately if you lose a tooth or experience any trauma to your teeth or mouth. Early treatment can help in preventing any additional problems or infection.

Anyone is at risk for a knocked out tooth because anyone can have an accidental fall. Also, anyone who gets into a car is at risk for a car accident which may involve trauma to your face and knock out a tooth. If you play contact sports or get into a fight, you are also at a higher risk for trauma to your mouth which could result in a knocked out tooth.
