If you play sports, be sure to wear a helmet that protects the face and mouth. Wearing a mouth guard while playing sports will also minimize any trauma to teeth. Contact your dentist immediately if you lose a tooth or experience any trauma to your teeth or mouth. Also, anyone who gets into a car is at risk for a car accident which may involve trauma to your face and knock out a tooth. If you play contact sports or get into a fight, you are also at a higher risk for trauma to your mouth which could result in a knocked out tooth.
