If you're allergic to any ingredient in albuterol sulfate or if you've ever had a reaction to other bronchodilators, you shouldn't take this medication. Certain medications may increase the risk for serious side effects, so make sure you tell your doctor about any medications or supplements you're taking before you take albuterol sulfate. You should also talk to your doctor before taking albuterol sulfate if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems (such as abnormal heartbeat), a seizure disorder, or overactive thyroid gland. It's unknown whether albuterol sulfate affects a developing fetus or nursing baby, so women who are pregnant or breast-feeding should talk to their doctors before taking albuterol sulfate.
