Plaque psoriasis is color and gender blind. It can affect anyone regardless of age or race. That being said, it occurs more often in Caucasians than African-Americans (2.5% vs. 1.3%). It also typically develops in people between 15 and 35 years of age, but people of all ages can have it, including rare cases of small children or infants.
