If your child has the flu, you should keep him home from school, camp or day care until he's feeling better and has been fever free—without taking fever-reducing medicine—for at least 24 hours. (A fever is a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.) The flu is highly contagious and can make your child feel pretty miserable, so it's important to follow these guidelines.
