If you are taking Erivedge (vismodegib), a pill to treat basal cell skin cancer, call your doctor right away if you or your sexual partner may have gotten pregnant. Erivedge can cause severe birth defects and can be fatal to a developing fetus. Women who take Erivedge need to take careful precautions to avoid pregnancy, and men who take it need to make sure their sexual partners do not become pregnant.

Erivedge can also cause many common side effects, such as diarrhea or vomiting. Call your doctor if you have any side effects that bother you or that do not get better over time.
