Stacy Wiegman answered:Call your doctor or get other medical help right away if you experience any of the following while you're taking Erwinaze (asparaginase Erwinia chrysanthemi):
- an allergic reaction (with symptoms including tightness in your throat, difficulty breathing or swallowing, dizziness or light-headedness)
- abdominal pain (a possible sign of pancreatitis)
- extreme thirst or increased amounts or frequency of urination (which may be caused by high blood sugar or glucose intolerance)
- a headache, swelling in your arms or legs, shortness of breath and chest pain (which may stem from blood coagulation problems)
