    Diarrhea, rashes and a fever are not normal for a teething baby. If your infant has a fever or diarrhea while teething or continues to be cranky and uncomfortable, call your physician.

    Teething is an experience all babies go through as their new teeth push up through their gums. Usually you can treat teething right at home by offering your baby a teething ring or cool cloth to chew on. 

    Signs you need to call your baby's doctor about teething include:

    • Fever
    • Inconsolable crying
    • Diarrhea
    • Rash
    • Other signs of an illness
