Sudden headaches, nausea and a weak pulse are signs someone should get out of the sun and into air conditioning as soon as possible. If you notice someone with mental distress or confusion, or someone loses consciousness when it’s hot outside, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room.

It is important to call "911" for a person suffering heat exhaustion, because it can quickly lead to heat stroke and ultimately death. The earlier intervention for heat exhaustion can help prevent any longstanding effects from heat exhaustion.
