When your "water breaks," it simply means you're leaking amniotic fluid and are likely not far from labor - but it doesn't necessarily mean you're in active labor. Call your provider. Typically, if your amniotic fluid is clear, a doctor will instruct you to stay at home, but he'll probably instruct you to go to the hospital if the fluid is yellow, green or red. If nothing happens within 24 hours, your provider may want to induce your labor.

Also, no sex or baths after water breaks.
