    Pediatric Videx is used for treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. It does not cure HIV infection. The medication interferes with the reproduction of the HIV virus and the breakdown of the child's immunity. This helps in preventing or delaying the problems associated with HIV virus production and development of AIDS (Acquired immune deficiency syndrome).
