    Upper body stretches include:
    • Overhead arm stretch -- Extend both arms as high over your head as you can. While reaching your arms up, bring your hands as close together as possible. If you can, touch and interlock your fingers while straightening at the elbows. Hold for 10 seconds.
    • Upper arm extension/flexion -- This simply uses a fixed structure to help provide resistance while you stretch your upper arms. This allows the pectorals muscles in your chest to stretch as well.
    • Walking arm flexion/extensions -- This is a good warm-up exercise that you can do while walking. Start with both arms straight out in front of you with your fingers extended, and then bring your hands to your chest while making a fist. Next, extend your arms to each side while extending your fingers again. Bring your arms back to your chest while making a fist again, and then return to the original position with your arms and fingers extended in front of you. Do 50 repetitions.
