    Johns Hopkins Medicine answered:

Raynaud's phenomenon is a common condition. Most people with Raynaud's phenomenon will NOT develop scleroderma. There are two types of Raynaud's phenomenon:

    • Primary Raynaud's - people who have Raynaud's, but do not have scleroderma
    • Secondary Raynaud's - people with Raynaud's phenomenon and evidence of scleroderma. Almost everyone with scleroderma has Raynaud's symptoms. This is called secondary Raynaud's phenomenon, because it is secondary to the scleroderma disease.
