Gail Gross, Ph.D., says, "There's a lesson in the Kabbalah about the oneness of all of us, the connectedness - it's like a connective tissue. We are all connected by a membrane of light. In fact, that is an American Indian concept, too, the idea of the wedding basket: You have a connectedness between mates, that there are membranes of light that tie you to the other. When you are in a healthy relationship, the Kabbalists believe that the light is not obstructed. The Kabbalah lessons are really about simplifying, and even the simplifying is, in itself, a distraction that brings you back to where you already are, to what is already there.

"So, to apply that to a person who is ill, you would say that their clear stream of light is obstructed by blocks or constriction. This is because it takes a lot of energy to hold down secrets, anger, fear, hatred, rejection, grief, to repress what is there. When you remove the constriction, when you are in your heart and you get past the repression, then you are free. Everything is free-flowing. You are light, your immunities go up, you are healthy, because you are in the stream again."
